ABOUT THE BAND:
On a September weekend in the early 1970’s, having overdosed on a staggering quantity of various substances, The Who’s legendary drummer Keith Moon was admitted to a hospital on the edge of London to get his stomach pumped, while unbeknownst to him, Chunky Axe was being birthed in a nearby ward. A few years later, during the height of the Watergate scandal, the Russian spacecraft Soyuz 14 successfully landed back on Earth after a mission to explore the military applications of spaceflight, while thousands of miles away in Montreal, an expecting mother’s long ordeal was finally mitigated with a pair of tongs and Rusty Chops breathed his first. The two met in Toronto in the dying days of the cold war, and began a long- standing collaboration, of which Old Scar Avatar is the latest incarnation, and to those who aided in this presentation, they would like to express their appreciation without reservation.

I've been doing this for the last three years, but this is the first year I took pictures of at least most of them (keeping in mind I have my son 50/50). Combined, it seems like a lot of work, but honestly, it's a great example of how small incremental progress adds up.

The real reason I was not permitted to stay at this event was because it was an event about trauma and compassion. As someone who has suffered trauma symptoms for the past 3 years as a consequence of my experience with collaborative professionals, I am of the belief that Collaborative Divorce needs to be regulated. They don't like me for that, and some in particular don't want me to speak the truth about what happened in my case.

The way I see it, Collaborative Law is an unregulated cabal nestled within a self-regulated cabal. The judges have been removed from the equation and these "professionals" do not want anyone looking into how they conduct themselves.

Without going into the details of what they did, I experienced it as nothing short of a psychological group assault. I wish there were valid avenues to pursue the truth of my story, but there are not. I'll admit, I think online reviews demean us all. But I fear what happened to me has become all too common in recent years, and I don't imagine many men feel they can discuss it. Because really, they can't. This is only likely to bring me hardship.

But I don't want my son to grow up in a world that treats men this way. If I can prevent what happened to me from happening to one other man, it will be worth it.

If I were a woman, what I did by walking into this event (walking into the lions den) would be considered brave. But I'm not, and not about to pretend to be one.
